Hi
I wanted to write and let you know about a new Kickstarter project I’m involved in called “The Great Illustrator Project” by Tom Anderson. It is based on a really compelling idea where many illustrators (including me) will work together to create a powerful library of artwork that everyone, from kids to adults, can use in creating their own digital stories.
The project is built on a powerful app called the Blackfish Story Creator. The idea itself is brilliant in my opinion, and that’s why I got involved - Everyone has a story to tell, and this will let you tell it!
One thing I want to be sure to point out… This is NOT charity. The project is so compelling because people can get a huge amount of value for a relatively small pledge (In Kickstarter, people “Pledge” money to get “Rewards”). Also, the more the project grows, the more everyone gets since more artwork is created.
I’d appreciate if you could have a look at the project. You can do it here. If (and only if) the project seems interesting to you, the $25 pledge is a good pledge to look at, since it is the heart of the project.
If it is something you think you (and your kids/grandkids) would enjoy, then supporting the project early would be a great help since the key to its success is gaining momentum early on. If it’s not something you find compelling, then no need to pledge of course ;)
If you do pledge, please keep track of this code: 0323 (or just ask me for it again later), and at the end of the project, you’ll be sent an email that asks for an “Artist Code”. If you enter it, then the money you invest will go to me rather than any other illustrators.
If you like the project, I would also really appreciate if you could help spread the word and let some of your friends and family know about it (I’ve included some links below to help get the word out). If the project gains momentum, I think it could get really big, and become very exciting for everyone. Some of the main groups we’re targeting are parents, writers, teachers, and do-it-yourself crafters.
Thanks so much for having a look!
